From the moment you settle into the welcoming ambiance—whether inside among rich wooden accents or outside on the charming patio—you can expect a symphony of aromas and tastes that awaken your senses.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the succulent Vacío, a thick-cut, juicy skirt steak grilled to perfection with beautifully marbled fat that melts in your mouth. Complement it with one of the delectable sides like crispy Papas a la francesa or smoky Vegetales al grill, and you have a meal that speaks to deep-rooted traditions of grilling mastery. For seafood lovers, the Tentáculos de Pulpo a las Brasas deliver tender, charred octopus paired masterfully with grilled vegetables, while the Salmón Alcaparrado enchants with its buttery, caper-infused glaze laced with zingy lemon.
Not to be missed are the handmade Argentine empanadas, bursting with authentic flavors, and innovative salads like the Ensalada Espinacas con Arándanos, which adds a refreshing, tart counterpoint to the richer dishes. The pasta offerings display superb diversity, from the rustic meat-studded Lasagna Bolognesa to the silky richness of Fetuccini Alfredo con camarón, showcasing the kitchen’s versatility and devotion to quality ingredients.
La Bodega de Leon also excels in drink offerings, featuring a tempting array of cocktails and non-alcoholic options. The Clericot — a vibrant, fruity sangria-style drink — and the refreshing Mojito Sin Alcohol are perfect companions for the warm Guadalajara evenings. Guests often praise the attentive and gracious service, especially noting servers like Chuy, whose friendly demeanor and genuine warmth elevate the entire dining experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels both personal and authentic.
Desserts are thoughtfully crafted, with the Strudel de Pera y Manzana con Salsa de Whisky standing out as a delicately spiced, buttery finale that perfectly balances sweetness and warmth. Even dessert skeptics find themselves pleasantly surprised here.
Whether you're savoring the perfectly cooked, tender filet or indulging in smoky, fall-off-the-bone ribs coated in a rich BBQ glaze, La Bodega de Leon’s culinary artistry speaks volumes. The vibrant flavors, coupled with a lively yet comfortable setting, make it an exceptional destination for family gatherings, casual dinners, or a special night out.

My wife and I went here for a drink last evening and had a great experience. Drinks were fantastic and the patio was lovely. Our server named Chuy was wonderful. Very welcoming and friendly… he even took the time to chat with us so we could practice our Spanish. He shared amazing recommendations, too. Chuy was a wonderful example of what hospitality in Mexico is all about. Mil gracias to Chuy for a great evening!
fantastic on all counts. from the creative but delicious sopa pistache to perfectly cooked filete.
I got the fillet, rare, and they nailed it to perfection. Also the blend of roasted vegetables was divine. I also order possibly the lightest limonada natural I’ve had here in GDL, and would happily order again. I’ll be honest, I was not expecting much from the Oreo cheesecake but I was very happy to be wrong. It was quite lovely, however could use more fruit. There were numerous staff who helped out and all were very polite. If you’re looking for a fancy steakhouse to bring your friends and have a good time, this is the one.
Words can't express how delicious the food was. The steak and ribs were soo tender, just how I like it. Everything was just perfect.
Good food but nothing out of ordinary . +kids play room
